Facebook for English Students

          Facebook is the most popular social network site. Many people all over the world use Facebook because it offers a practical communication way. In this modern era, Facebook has been applied as a creative learning media that is called E-Learning. There are many features provided on Facebook that support learning, such as: chat, note, picture, page and group. For English students, Facebook is an appropriate site to get much knowledge.

          Firstly, we can find many native English speakers on Facebook. After making friends, we will have chance to speak with them. While practicing English, our vocabulary will increase as well. When we get difficult words on the conversation, we will often do searching in the dictionary. An effective way to remember the words is to write down on a notebook and use it as often as possible. So, we can memorize the words easily.

          Secondly, English group may be a choice to develop our English. There are many groups regarding with English on Facebook, such as: English and My Friends, Let’s Speak English, and ENGLISHINDO. In the groups, we will meet with many people who are keen on studying English. It will be a pleasurable place to share and ask about English.

          Lastly, English fanpage is the most beneficial one. We will find many English fanpage on Facebook, for examples: VOA Learning English, BBC English, and English is more than Fun. The fanpages are usually guided by people who are competent in English. They will post some English materials. Then, we can do quizzes available and get correction from the tutors.

         So, Facebook is not only a site to interact with others. Facebook should be an interesting media to study English, because there are many features which will help us to improve our English skill.
